things are looking up
even in the past
glimpses of this crossed my lids
in dreams, perhaps, but they were there
flitting somewhere in the distance

although it rains, i see sunshine
i am self-fulfilling, and i am worthy
there is nothing to hold me back now

and as i leave this place
like the sculptor would with a block of clay
i am chipping away the parts that aren't me.
