Help the Homeless

Thank you for being part on our unofficial rainbow community.

I started this site 12 years ago and its been really fun to watch it grow. I have net a ton of family too!

I have a favor to ask. I have a book about how to help the homeless coming out in May and we literally just put up a community like this one so when the book comes out they will have a place to meet others and help our homeless friends online and off. )

So I wanted to invite you…

Looking for the rainbow

As I began my profile with this site my life was changing dramatically. I had twin sons who were 20 Years old and one of them was having some very serious psychiatric concerns. As we waited for the counselor to call us back I signed up for the site at the urging of my 20 yo. He was seen and arrangements were made for him to see the psychiatrist the next day as well as the counselor and to be sure and have his twin brother come as well. Now normally I would have been out of town working during… Continue

It's not just a good thing to do cause its nice; Love is a lifestyle.

Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.

~ Mother Teresa ~

Not a soul on this planet, good or bad, should have to suffer any type of hunger. Whether it be emotional, spiritual, or physical.

Desperate Need Please

My husband and I really need help. We are homeless and living in our car for months. We have been looking for a job for this duration. We have been throughout the entire United States doing odd jobs; such as, working on an organic vegetable farm. That was great; however, the season ended. Our phones got stolen because our window in our car is broken; therefore, we lost all of our contacts. We are peaceful people just looking for a place to lay our head, and we are willing to work. Thanks so… Continue

My first meeting with some Family.

I finally got to meet some family! This site made it possible, so thank you for that. r.dub was kind enough to pick me up for a trip out to Arkansas to meet up with Alicat and some others working hard on their farm. I been back home for about a week now and it's about time I posted about my experience there.

r.dub pulled into my driveway, I was packed and waiting to go. I got to meet my first brother, I highly doubt I could have met one nicer than r.dub. We headed out west down the… Continue

Down but not Out…

During our short time on the lot in Bayside Park we made many good connections. One that I will remember for the rest of my life was Charles Clements. Everyone called him “Cappie” because he had once been a longtime Captain of his own shrimp boat. Later in life he owned a marine repair shop that he lost during Katrina, but he was still known by everyone as Cappie. You can read his amazing survival story in the book “Hell and High Water”. Cappie was 71 at… Continue

Journey to A Rainbow Second Helpin’

As we arrived in Mississippi at the beginning of December it was evident 150 miles from the coast that much damage was wrought when Katrina danced her way inland. Waveland was on the eastern side of the eye of the hurricane. Meteorologists know that as the most powerful section of that type of storm. As the storm made landfall Katrina brought 9…

Camp Second Helpin’

My mate and I spent 2 years in Waveland MS. Just after Katrina, I made many close friendships in the General public, Mayors office, Fire department, I stand witness to both the good and bad that can happen to, with and after a large scale disaster. I have seen the joy of grateful mommas and poppas, and blessed with almost daily miracles. Smiles

where there was once sadness, witnessed the Good works as well

as bungling of Babylonian &…
