Job 12:7-8

But ask now the beasts and they shall teach thee;
And the fowls of the air, and they shall teach thee;
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee;
And the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.

From the book "A Thousand Splendid Suns"

Joseph shall return to Caanan--Grieve not.
Hovels shall return to rose gardens--Grieve not.
If a flood should arrive to drown all who are alive, Noah is your Guide in the typhoon's eye--Grieve not.

Let your path have all the stones, for they help you walk straight
The sun rise in your face when you fall
And all your paths walk to the center

The earth hold you
The fire warm you
The rain wash you
The air breathe on your feet in sore places
The wind blow your dreams to all regions
The stars find your way
The buffalo look for you when you need.

From A Salvadorean Peasant

They brought their money from another land to divide me from you and to make one, an other. Then you did not know who I was, So that they could be rich and I could die--that was their reason. I wanted a little piece of land to stand on, for to plant tomatoes and corn. Was that too much to ask? If they take everything from me, what will I have to give you you? 1/2/2008

Against Forgetting

The world is compartmentalized like the mind is compartmentalized. There are things in your mind that have no communication with themselves. They don't exist to themselves and yet they exist. It is not important that you erase, forget, or refuse to acknowledge any of these parts at any time, but that you know them all at once.

She fed us every Saturday

When I was a little girl, there was a woman on our block named Heather, who used to have the neighborhood kids over on Saturday noon and feed them lunch. Once she started it, we just showed up on Saturday. It was so cool. It was a small kindness that made a huge impression on me. I remembered it for the rest of my life. Now I am Heather's spawn, and I feed the kids on my block on Saturdays. Oh how they like Saturdays! I live in a remote area, there are on average 5 kids coming over. They love… Continue

Hey brothers and sisters,

So when I was writing my last blog, my life was pretty much a wreck! I had been a bad alcoholic for years and was making horrible desicions in my life and was fighting with my mother a lot because of it. I am now 110% sober!! (4 months and counting!) Nowa days things are really looking up so I thought i'd share a bit. Although I'm not one for supporting babylon, I finally got a full time job at a family resturant..which makes it better I suppose. My…

There comes a moment of clarity and acceptance of it being time once again for change. As our growth continues the lives of loved ones and people we are near are effected, some more than others.
