- About Me:
- Hey, family! Well, I haven't been to a gathering in many many moons (Nationals in PA, which I think was '99???) but I see quite a few familiar faces on here! (Bliss Monkey, by the way, is not my Rainbow name, so if you think you may know me--Willow-- don't be shy--say hi!) In the non-gathering years I traveled, worked, studied, volunteered, and lived in various places in Mexico and Guatemala. Then I spent a few years in what turned out to be a soul-crushing relationship. I'm out of it now, and have two beautiful kids to show for it. I have recently relocated with my 3 kids and I am slowly trying to "get myself back", trying to pump the sunshine back in and get the "juiciness" back into my life, and I know that reconnecting with my "Rainbow roots" should help that! So, enough ancient history...
I enjoy vegetarian cooking (been veg for 27 years-yea!), sewing, making toys for my kids (see the photo album), reading, and crafting, primarily using "upcycled" /found/discarded materials. Oh, and I love thrift stores! I haven't been able to do much traveling or camping for a while, so I'm trying to find good kind crunchy community right here in my own backyard. If you're in the neighborhood, give me a shout! I'd especially love to connect with other crunchy moms. Love to all!!!
UPDATED 1/16/2012: Well, here it is more than a year later. Still here in Kent. I've started my own business--Far Out Forest--where I sell the "junk" I've made from other "junk" :) Hoping to get the etsy site open soon. I'm teaching Spanish to adults, and sewing to girls. My goal for 2012 is financial self-sufficiency without a 9-to-5 workin'-for- the- man-grind. I also threw out my microwave! (Empowering!) A hopeless pack-rat, I'm working on throwing out a ton of stuff (before I end up on the "Hoarders" show!) and making room for new magical things in my life. There is so much change in the air this year, and I'm feeling it on a cellular level!

Thank you!! :) I was just at the Kent Natural Foods Co-Op yesterday getting herbs for tea! For what ages is the story time at the library? I have a 20 month old, he doesn't get too into reading quite yet but I'd like to start! OH BTW you seem like the perfect person to ask!!! Do you know of any drum circles that go on in or around the Kent area? I miss dancing on the beach drum circles in Florida so much! Do you have Facebook?
