Each Sunday there's a drum circle at 3rd & Van Buren, across from the Ninkasi Brewery. Good folks, good vibes, if you play something other than drum or just wanna dance, there's that too. Of…Continue

High there, is anyone else around here a didgeridoo player/maker/aficionado? I've been playing and collecting them since May, and I'd like to start a didg group here as there don't appear to be one…Continue

About Me:
I've been called many things: a student of life, a perpetual seeker, an empath, gifted, and even "embryo mystic." My entire life since leaving the public school system behind has been one of reconditioning, personal growth, and discovery. It's a long journey (life-long) but I feel like I've made up for plenty of lost time over the past decade. I'll try most things at least once, just for the experience of it.

Currently I live with my wife and 3 year old, my in-laws, a disabled relative whom we take care of, and 4 dogs.

I like to fancy myself a Renaissance man, but don't know if I always come off as such, heheh. My hobbies and interests include: music (listening and playing), travel, plants/herbalism/entheology, sewing, history, literature, cinema, linguistics, etymology, comparative religion, tantric sex, the Universe, Time, questioning authority, exploring new realms of Consciousness, and the inevitable merging of science, art, and spirituality, which will bring us into this New Era<3

Spirit

I, the Spirit of the Wind, say unto you

I can huff and puff and blow your house down

I, the Spirit of the Sea, say unto you

I can flood your beaches and your grassy plains

I, the Spirit of the Earth, say unto you

I can tumble your tall buildings and move mountains

I, the Spirit of Fire, say unto you

I can burn your forests and your cities

I, the Spirit of the Seasons, say unto you

I can destroy…

conserve vs. preserve

Posted on February 20, 2011 at 1:21pm 0 Comments

I was wondering what exactly the difference was between "conserve" and "preserve," so I looked up the etymology. They're both from Latin servare "to save, protect," but preserve is to keep safe in advance (hence "pre-"), while conserve is just to keep or protect. So I concluded that preserve implies an active role, while conserve is passive. Then suddenly it made sense to me why conservatives prefer small, ineffectual governments--cuz they don't wanna do… Continue

You stay high big brother. We all have troubles and sometimes we feel lonely even when we know we are loved, but you know the other side is so warm when you come through everything and you get the chance to help someone else. So I'm counting on you to be there because we need you so much.

Hugs and kisses!

You know you may feel stuck sometimes, but I think Eugene is just about the best city in the world. So if your are going to get stuck somewhere I guess you still have a good thing to be thankful for.

What an experience going to the gathering coming out of surgery. I still wouldn't want to miss it if had a choice. I never made it to Fat Kids, but I heard so much good from the moment I arrived. I am in awe at their energy and it reminds me of the inspiration and drive that makes miracles happen.

Are  you around Eugene? I made the last potluck and am planning on going on the first.

Yes, I had a magical gathering this year. I received everything I needed, and much more that I could pray for.

I was mostly at Kid Village, but worked the trail a bit this year, and had amazing circles at lots of kitchens including Sushi, I Don't Know, Instant Soup, Granola Funk, Rainbow Crystal, OMnivore, Pop Corner and of course KV.

How was your gathering?

Hey Nightshade. How are things going? I'm headed to the potluck in Eugene. Are you still in the North West?

I am in the middle of my second tipi winter and really the first full one. It's an incredible experience for me and I'm learning so much about the practical skills for natural living, but it also gives me a precious perspective on my life and my relationship to others and the universe as a whole.

This manifest itself in the presence of family and the sisters I share our lodge with. We have been camped at a nice place for a couple of weeks. We were headed to the hot springs for the full moon when the weather got ragged and we decided to set up where we knew we had lots of wood, and it has been great. We will go the rest of the way to the hot springs after the weather breaks. The full moon is wonderful. We have been getting breaks in the clouds so the moon can light up our meadow and we can dance between the raindrops.

Hugs and kisses!
