Thank you! Maybe one day I'll visit when I escape babylon. But I'm gonna stick with school and go to college so I can learn as much as I can :) The community sounds like it would be amazing! Perhaps some summer we might get to talk at a gathering or something :)
Welcome my friend, thank you.
Hi Mark,
I just happened to see your comment on "your place being 40 mi north of Seattle" ? And Olympia? Well, any hoo.. my wife is a certified "grower" in Duval and is looking for a new place. Do you know of any small houses for rent? I'm a jack of all trades proffessional and could come out that way to do some fix up...ect. Any suggestions for me. It ould be mostly my wife and maybe one adult daughter.
Thanks. Peaceon andon.........Rogue
I missed the part about the Northwest and defaulted to you being in New York. I was just up the PCH in Northern CA. In January I was in Seattle and took a liking to the region. I am keeping my eyes focused on what I think will be the places to make a stand. Despite local economies, those areas are where temperate rain forests exist on the Pacific side and to a lesser extent, upper New England.
If the weather is trending to extremes regardless of the season, I think areas naturally wet and under cloud cover, near the oceans will be smarter places to be "intentional" and with the exception of solar, be better places to create self-sustainable economies. Worst case scenario would be that coastal Washington has a few more sunny and warmer days. As long as the volcanoes don't ruin the local geography, growing in those rich soils wetted by rains carried on winds borne in the Pacific will offer what the drought-ridden and backed Midwest could only dream of, crops.
Hey Mark,
Thanks for the connection. Like the pics that suggest you are grounded in an ability to be self-sustaining. I am digging that combine. It looks like my Troy-Bilt "Horse" on some serious steroids and a lot easier one's back.
hey mark I have a brother that lives in the olympia, wa. area, he is an organic farmer and glass blower as well, I plan on visiting out there in the next cpl of weeks! would be nice to have more places to visit!
Hello Mark.
