- About Me:
- I'm Maddie. My goal is to detatch myself completely from society. I've an interest in Deep ecology, which is a theory that believes that everything on this Earth (and in the expanse of the universe) is connected and no one being is greater than an other (that goes for you, humans!) I understand that in order for our speices to survive we must learn to co-exist with the Earth, not try to own it, for it has been here long before us and will remain here long after we are gone. Open up yourself to the wilderness and allow natural instinct to take hold, it is only a matter of realizing that this society was created by man and has no real value in life. Your job or the things you buy and consume do not make you valueable it is the humanity you have towards all living things that makes you a valueable person to a community, or tribe. Look to our ancestors for the answers I have found, they understood that Mother Earth has greater value than all of your material possesions. You are born on this Earth naked, without possesions or the concept of them, and should die in the same manner.
Earth teach me quiet ~ as the grasses are still with new light.
Earth teach me suffering ~ as old stones suffer with memory.
Earth teach me humility ~ as blossoms are humble with beginning.
Earth teach me caring ~ as mothers nurture their young.
Earth teach me courage ~ as the tree that stands alone.

Earth teach me freedom ~ as the eagle that soars in the sky.
Earth teach me acceptance ~ as the leaves that die each fall.

Ive figured out a lot since writing my last entrie, and have had lots of ups and downs. Got to do some traveling last summer and had a lot of fun...was reunited with a high school companion and fell in love, only to realize we'd been in love the whole time! So when I was writing my last blog, my life was pretty much a wreck! I had been a bad alcoholic for years and was making horrible desicions in my life and was fighting with my mother a lot because of it. I am now 110% sober!! (4 months and counting!) I'm in need of some help. 19, still living at home, and want to leave this june for obvious resons.(living in the woods) My mother is extreemly protective and looks down upon my lifestyle. i am going to break the news to her but, i'm really nervous about her reaction. No problem- I understand all about it, my computer crashed recently and was without one for awhile. I'd love to hang out sometime, tht would be great..
