I walk alone cross country

What am I looking for?

What have I lost?

I search everyday

I search everywhere

Days go by

Where am I

I do not know these people

I look through the crowd

I am pushing my way…..

So many people

I catch a glimpse of someone I used to know

I get closer….. closer

I can’t believe I finally found ME

The touch of another body against mine

The slow breathing that comforts me in the dark

The gentle embrace of an arm around me

The soft whispers of romantic words

Just to know you are there keeps me safe

No longer just in my dreams

Suffer not my heart for a new day has come

The weight of a thousand pains has been lifted

My life can start now

The smile of a new smile

The laugh of a new laugh

The twinkle of a new eye

The touch of a new hand

The feel of new lips

I can look to the heavens and thank God everyday for these things

And I can know that everything will be alright
