Here's the military survival manual I've been threatening to make available.

Apparently it was issued to airmen, dunno what war or how current it is. But there's a ton of good globally relevant stuff in it, including SURVIVAL USE OF PLANTS- the good and the bad.

This is the full 400+ page manual in word document, all 37 megabytes of it. I zipped it, but it made so little difference I figured it wasn't worth your time to unzip it.

And here's a zipped folder containing the material chapter by chapter- it's a little more usable this way.

Enjoy, live long, and prosper- I insist

I just discovered I left the Edible/Poisonous Plants list out of the manual.zip file, so here it is.

Hi Morgan.  I wrote a survival manual for publication a few years ago, but couldn't arrive at an agreement with the publisher over details of the contract.  Eventually I decided to make it available free online to anyone who can benefit from it.  The title is Desert Emergency Survival Basics, but a lot of the techniques, methods, concepts apply to any remote terrain a person might find himself/herself needing to survive long enough to get back to shelter, warmth, water and food.  The book is posted on my wordpress blog, and a link is to the tab can be found on my profile page here if I've got it posted correctly.  [I'm having a lot of trouble navigating here, so I'm not certain - downloading an upgrade to my browser as I type this in hopes that's the problem].

Anyway, no intention of hijacking your thread here, but I hope you won't consider it an intrusion.  Jules

Your link works just fine, and your blog looks like a good read.

Thanks for the post. I don't consider this a personal thread, in spite of the way it's listed.

It's purpose is for sharing of perspectives and knowledge and all posts are welcome.

This would be a good item to cross-post to 2012 Survival tactics
