Yeah I just mainly use glowsticks. Have been practicing daily for a few weeks now. Trying to just tie different stuff in and make transitions smoother. I thought poi was done with fire? What other types do people do? Lights or glow sticks?
LD, unless you're making fire poi, you don't need kevlar.
oh, alright. thanks for the advice. i can see what you mean about it feeling different. i just changed my poi today and even that threw me off.
Also, I'm glad people are finally joining this group. I'll have to try and change the setting so I don't have to approve people when they want to join. I haven't been spinning as much as I used to but that's changing now that the weather is getting nicer out
Well if you've been practicing for a week, I'd say try to get more comfortable with it first before trying fire. I spun for months with poi I made before spinning fire, but I'm sure there are people out there who have gone straight to fire. Fire poi are much heavier too, which can make it feel much different than sock poi.
I've been practicing poi all week, as a beginner, and i'm falling in love. I feel like i'll learn faster with fire because it would be more visual and I would have an easier time feeling the energy. Do you think it's a good idea for me to get into fire in the beginning, or is it best to have a lot of experience with sock poi before trying fire?
