hi, here is a good start; http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Guide-Edible-Wild-Plants/dp/1602396922 I would also obtain a field guide to edible mushrooms. I have a north american plants book that I've had for years and would not part with it. This is a good start!

I can recommend several,some you can find new or used just shop around at second hand and half price bookstores,plus internet" A field guide to edible wild plants",Peterson field guide series,HoughtonMifflin,company,ISBN0-395-31870-x.make sure you get the one for your region.Another one is," Field guide to edible wild plants" by Bradford Angier by Stackpole books ISBN0-8117-2018-7.Another one by the same auther and publisher is "Field guide to medicinal wild plants",ISBN0-8117-2076-4.This too by the same auther and publisher" Feasting free on wild edibles",ISBN0-8117-2006-3.The final one is"The wild food trail guide"by Alan Hall ,auther,an Owl book by Holt,Rinehart and Winston/New York publishers ISBN0-03-016746-9.There are more out there and always get more than one book so that you can crossreferense with others for accuracy,they are a definite help out here in hillbillyland.
