Living Well After The Earth Changes

(Thanks to water, singing-on-the-rocks for that great iconic photo)

This is the place for sharing and discussing plans, methods, and "technology" for living well after we survive the changes.

This is an attempt to provide a forum for after-changes concerns not already specifically covered by existing topics. It should make it easier to follow the various threads in those areas.

For immediate survival, check out

2012 survival tactics and

food preparation and storage for the long haul.

Long and short term housing and shelter is covered thoroughly  at

space containment and housing

Another group that should be cross-referenced here is

Way to go! Best of luck to you.

I'm not certain 12/21 is a pinpoint event, but it may be more of a threshold.

It may well be that we don't see major geophysical trauma until sometime in Feb or even later.

But don't be surprised if the politicoeconomic fecal matter hits the aerocirculatory mechanism sooner.

I have officially achieved my goal of living 100% self-sustainably off of the land by Dec. 2012 here on the farm in Costa Rica (except for the propane for cooking, for which I would need to build a bio-digester and get a pig to fill it with shit, lol). But besides the propane I've achieved my goal. Thinkin about headin up to the highest mountain peak for Dec. 21. Any other suggestions for any specific reason?

Living in the aftertimes doesn't mean you have to do without mechanical power or electrical power (when you want it) generated by non-polluting internal combustion engines with a virtually unending fuel supply, or gas for household use.
These links will introduce you to biomass gas generation- the fuel of the future.
They are not intended to teach you everything you need to know, but to ground you in the concept and prepare you to do the research necessary to be able to make your own.
The options for acquiring a biomass gas generator range from buiding your own from scratch by learning the principles involved to buying a kit or prebuilt generator.
If this intrigues you, dive in.

This is Part 2, see Part 1 below first please:

You only need a very small wood stove , 4" smoke stack in side a 6" steel elbow,& vent stack if you go with a 6" stove pipe you'll want an 8" pipe outside of that ... the wood smoke will create a draw for air exchange leaving an air chamber around the two pipes. A Silo blower pipe has a flange already attached . A 4" pipe can also be threaded & an elbow found easily enough you might find one all set in a scrape pile , Blower pipe can be cut & wielded into an elbow & fitted around the smoke stack pipe inside of it . Your making a double walled pipe . Also the same blower pipe will work for your attic lighting tubes in the roof . Near your supports / roll bars  if your into NASCAR  auto races . Oh , one last thing if there is an earth quake things move side ways , attaching two units together is not a good idea , how ever , connect with a culvert pipe 4' dia. ... You'll need a 3' exit pipe, two footer is a little tight to crawl through ,

you'll need it to be 4' under ground with a septic man hole & cover over it cover with 6" of dirt  & plant grass on it have a hydrlic jack handy to pry anything loose to escape , make sure the tools you need are inside your underground ark / home ... if your going to do this make sure you family can survive in the same small space , your living in . Beds hung from walls .

joist hangers again insulate & finish like a home steel studs less fire danger inside , sheet rock ... some thing to think about ; the earth is being pulled from the southwest to the northeast , if the earth does stop for three day's before it changes rotation , it would be sun rise in the west .  I would invest in a 100 watt Solar panel & keep it for after the changes ; that will charge two batteries W/a controller. OR a bank of 4 six volts , Edison standard light sockets , wired to auto wires / trailer light wire (2 wire) 12 volt will travel along house wire too . I did both in my own house but don't have a container home . Oh yea lights , 12 volt LED 200m/A just under a 1/2 watt "Montana Lighting" is the Mfg.Co.
