Just hoping everyone has a few words to share about the past year and what they feel is overlooking us for the future New Year. I think there is a lot more disassociation with people wanting to be…Continue

That's an amazing vid, Two Birds! Note he has used it to forge a knife; melt small amounts of precious metals; make jewelry. Another vid shows a garbage can size... for self sufficiency, can't imagine needing bigger than that! ...outside of a kiln, that is.
Anyone who has need for a small forge, this is an awesome video.
Looks great my friend :)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cTViewK8M0 that's a link to my setup. A friend came to visit and made this one. I've other videos as well. My greatest success was my solar heater. We have shaved off 2/3 of our cost from last year this time.
thanks firelight and two birds, I have 1 big battery but I think it bit the dust. I have 3 15 watt panels and a 400, watt inverter. so I guess it will be a new start. hum I guess ill have to think about it some more. peace
Firelight has the right idea...a combination works best. The biggest thing I would recommend is having enough batteries to store the power and a good voltage regulator/ power unit.
Sour, I use both because the wind don't always blow and the sun doesn't shine. But they support each other very well.
anyone have an opinion on which to use, solar panels or wind turbine thanks
peace, im moving to Colorado next month and will be off grid. this will a new adventure for me and ill be learning how to live a simpler life from what I do now. I have the water taken care of and now ill be working on a cheep way to have lights and a way to heat. this is the cabin ill be staying in. comments welcome.
Just a bit of info concerning gasoline/ diesel/ etc. I read a report that although crude oil is currently rising at about 13%, gasoline is rising at 137% and expected to get even worse. So if you haven't found alternative fuels, now might be the time to look into it....
