Hi pretender. Communes have always been a tough gig.  The desert southwest is spackled with the ruins of various ones that didn't work during the 1960s and 1970s.  Main problem being lousy selection of communees.  A couple of people end up going out earning whatever money everyone eats while everyone else is lying around screwing and blowing whatever flies their kites.

 

If you put something together, or find someone who's putting one together I'd be interested in stopping in a while, working some, not being a drag on the resources, but absolutely not being one of the financial providers for the layabouts.  I have the skills and experience to contribute something to an effort, but a jaundiced enough history of observation of commune workings not to expect too much, and determined not to lose too much in the process.  Communees have a tendency to include a component not opposed to theft without giving much thought to the matter.

to all family, My wife and I are expecting our child in july and living off the grid is something we need to find a way to do asap. How does one have children in modern society and then disappear from the Babylonian limelight especially since were very poor, barely have a working vehicle and its sad to say we do rely on the government for health care and other state benefits. That said, I have no proble telling uncle sam to go smoke a pole but in doing soafter receiving benefits, jumping through their bullshit hoops a few shitty repercussions may come into play. At some point after receiving  benefits the gov requires us to work some full time job, while takin it up the backside from their social workers and their so called investigators and their appointed daycare programs. I guess in all fairness, sure workin that job is a way to pay them back. At the same time her and I will have to deal with their social workers. But, at some point we will definitely want to flip em the Dueces and hit it on them so My wife, child and I can return to living off the grid as we have always done before. So in closing how did you make it possible to raise your children off the grid? Home school? Friends and family helped with daycare? What about Medical? This blog may be long and drawn out so I do apologize but we are seriously in need of some help or advice. As always, Lovin You :-)

Blessings and peace to everyone. Im new here and looking for any communities or communes etc. near Palm Bay Melbourne Florida area. Anyone have info on tipis and other alternative shelters one can build or construct fairly easily. Tired of these concrete walls and suburbia. Anyone been to Kashi ashram in Sebastian? I hear they have a living community there?Im in Palm Bay/Melbourne Florida.

Hello everyone. I'm from New England originally, now in CO. This is my 2nd time here and enjoying very much how I am BEing, who I'm meeting while BEing. Many good minds, gentle souls I've encountered in my journey. I feel that the people I'm meeting are more likely related to who I'm announcing I want to meet. Life is good.
