@sour daddy

I agree with you about how important it is to GIVE and DO for and at the Gatherings... the more positive energy and helping hands a person puts in the more that person takes home from being with our extended Family.

when we banned alcohol from inside the Gathering, A-Camp evolved and created a mess at the front gate and in the parking lot.  in Utah Bajer (rip) and I and a handful of folks took the front gate and sent in teams to the parking lot several times a day to make sure there was no circle of booze... instead we told folks, if ya gotta do alcohol, remember that it has to be hidden and any affected behavior as well.  that worked fairly well.

We have brothers and sisters of the Spirit who are addicted to various substances and behaviors including television and heroin and booze and kinky sex and sugar and... and...

and every one of those addictions is problematic for the folks who experience them and everybody close to those folks.  we have to help each other not condemn each other...

how?  I know ONE way that helps - it is to hold Tribal Council July 1 through 7 on the land at noon.  the recent way of allowing food serving to take precedence over our only sharing and self-governing traditions has allowed a clique of folks to begin making decisions on behalf of all of us. it stops people from finding out about all the activities going on, all the "jobs" that need to be done, all the "positions" that need to be filled on a daily basis.  it interferes with the current health issues and information from being spread so people are less likely to get sick.

 it stops new folks from learning about Process and Traditions and the very Spirit of the Gather.  many of them think we are holding a party and that a handful of manipulative people make the decisions.  it stops Shanti Sena from being the Peace Seekers that is the essence of how we influence one another to find peace within and to put peace out there for others to witness and experience.  hundreds of folks come to Gatherings now with absolutely no idea about Shanti Sena, no idea of what is necessary for a large Gathering to work, how WE do what WE do.

so if you are at a Gathering, I encourage you to find out all about everything necessary to make it work.  I encourage you to attend Family / Tribal Council every day and to tell the kitchens to wait to bring the food until AFTER the council is compelte for the day.

I encourage you to BE Shanti Sena.  I encourage you to BE CALM and plug in.  I encourage you to help each of the kitchens to relearn the lessons in sanitation we taught decades ago that helped keep gatherings healthy and safe.

whew!  quite the rant, no?

remember "we love you"... one and all...

@sourdaddy

who appointed u to be sheriff at Rainbow?  why do u think that u know the one and only TWUE way to be, the one and only TWUE reason to attend?  years we had 30,000 people come to Gather with us there were probably 45,000 different reasons!!!

We need to be the change we want to see. We need to say to ourselves that it starts with me.

I think we all need to find Inner Peace. I know that if I am not at peace with myself, I get angry very easily. It seems to rub off on others around me, too.

Sorry about mis-writing your name Maco...my vision is the pits. Was not intentional.

I just figured out that perhaps I am " Marco" not sure  my name is maco my father gave it to me but whatever all I was saying  is how can a ban be " enforced" without some jackboots to back it up

peace, this is mostly to rider on the storm but its for anyone.  pray for peace, what it means to me, any and everthing I do when I get to the gathering is praying. kitcken work, helping to get wood, medtating, helping out. and sending out the good vibes I srend out. that all leads up to the 4 th. when I wake up on the forth until the kids parade I find myself in a word where I want to be. john lennon says it best in th song imagine  so pray anyway you want and live like theres no tommrow

Shall a Rainbow om circle be only beautiful ?

I'm an atheist and I don't pray for peace. I use my time to meditate on peace and contribute positive energy to the earth. I know I'm a minority in the respect, but I always find it jarring that some of the language used by Rainbows is more exclusionary to people who peaceably contribute without prayer than people who use Gatherings to just find drugs or incite violence. Not trying to nitpick, just an observation.
