cut and pasted, here's directions:

Howdy folks, here are the directions to the 2014 Arizona Valentine's Day Regional Gathering. From Benson, AZ go south on hwy 80 to mile marker 315. Turn left (east) on Middlemarch road. If coming from Bisbee or Tombstone you will turn right on Middlemarch. Go about 10 miles to the national forest boundary. Right after the boundary turn left onto FR 687 and go 0.4 miles to a fork. Stay left at the fork and go about 2 miles when you will cross a cattle guard. Take an immediate right on FR 4804. Go 0.2 miles to Welcome Home. Here's a map showing where to turn after you cross the forest boundary.

Hey Finch or whomever is an admin... I just drove out and got lost so here's new and improved directions and a map. Please update and pin. Thx! :) <br / Howdy folks, here are the directions to the 2014 Arizona Valentine's Day Regional Gathering. From Benson, AZ go south on hwy 80 to mile marker 315. Turn left (east) on Middlemarch road.  Yes, there IS a Gathering happening, right now, in the SE corner of AZ.  It is just south of the Dragoons off I-10. There is at least one non-alcohol kitchen there; and a growing number of people.  Lots of folk coming in this weekend!  You should go if you can, L Sparrow.

Hey there! Is there anything happening or is there any family in the northern Phoenix area?

Please let me know when the non alcoholic spiritual awarness gathering will be, and where. I would love to go!

So I guess I don't know where this discussion is best put on these pages.  Maybe good here, since this gathering is still in the works; and it's happening here.

First, there's something that can be done at the gatherings infected with alcohol in the midst.  I love my alcoholic brothers and sisters; really, I do.  I've always managed to visit their camp (would recommend mornings) during a gathering.  Am always ready to patch last night's wounds; share a cup of coffee; get a chuckle and give a chuckle.  You know, live and love.

What we're missing that we had in the past, were brothers and sisters within A-Camp who loved us too; who worked something out in the spirit of consensus for the best solution for all.  The answer  then included A-Camp being on the periphery.  Though very important to us all (A-Camp contributed as much as anybody!), they simply partied differently.  There is no way non-alkies are going to be content hippies with drunken brawling breaking up the drum circles.  Strong people within A-Camp kept their camp together; and apart yet not estranged from the Rainbow circles.  They came to councils, peace poles and 4th celebrations sans alcohol; as much a part of us as our right hand.  Then they went to their camp to party in their own way.  A few strong brothers within A-Camp kept it that way.

Where are A-Camps' elders, leaders now?  Who's picking up the slack now we are in the next generation?  Please don't look to the same Olders; it has to pass down to 40-yr-olds; mature 30-yr-olds.

The people who organized this gathering have had mentors within Rainbow who certainly didn't tell them to organize their gatherings over others' heads; or exclude them by making the gatherings unbearable for families not alcoholic.  Einstein, since you're out there and in here too, would sure love it if you would pass these sentiments along.  These gatherings have alienated lots of Rainbow folk in the SW.  We are being excluded.  This sure as hell isn't Rainbow.

Gonna move this discussion to Two Bird's Gatherings Suggestion Box group; we are beyond this gathering at this time in SW.  Please come to help work something out.
