all I can say- is be wise- trust your instincts and be aware that some these supposed Regionals- are really just one or two Family members on their *little personal summer camping trips* and you can't blame them for being lonely and trying to get others to join them- but if you're like me- and you only have so much gas and food money- you want to make absolutely certain a Gathering is legitimate; so I say...

 

start a Facebook- sign up-  Page- like someone did with the Shawnee Fall Regional last year- where  you can see for certain all the Family members who clicked on the (Planning to Attend this Gathering)

~that worked out really well, and I actually saw some of these Folks there-

Tai is right. A gathering grows out of a smaller gathering + good advertising. Facebook sure is popular, even with Rainbows, especially with younger folks, so it's a good medium for getting the intention of gathering together. How did we do it before? Did we have regional focalizers, or was someone running the Lightlines...How did these gigantic families get together before facebook? And how do we make it happen now??

There is an Ithaca Regional facebook page, and about 40 people have shown interest in attending, well, some people have said they have large groups...so it's happening. :) Yay!
