Tuesday Update

As of last night when I left, there were still about 10 cars and about
3 school buses left at the bear creek rec area. Others had gone off to
look at sites and some had dispersed to various locations around the
forest. For now this is still the spot to hit the land and plug in.
There has been informal discussion of keeping camps dispersed and
under 75 to avoid the obvious resulting hassles.

Law enforcement presence is relatively light with the PA state
troopers driving through about twice daily.

On Saturday evening after council the forest supervisor and the two
district rangers paid us a welcome call. They seem to be very
welcoming, they came without leos and brought us maps and photography
of some locations they thought would be good gathering sites.

We've worked with some of these people in the past regarding ops plans
and other health and safety concerns for recent regional gatherings,
they seem very much wanting to work closely with us again on
health/safety planning and operational/logistical issues. There was no
mention of "the permit" during this visit.

Here's their info:

Allegheny National Forest

We've worked closely with Tony in the past and he's good to work with
and understands how to communicate with us well.

I have both Anthony and Leanne's cell numbers available on request.

The second district ranger was Robert Fallon, but he didn't have any
business cards available. I believe he's out of the Marienville
office. Consensus from Spring Council

council consensus today : gathering will be in allegheny national forest in pa

Hey Brother Zen,now I know where to find you.
Hi Zen, I just joined this site. My name is Bonnie and I am a somewhat handicamped almost elder. I am hoping to arrive at Heart's Content (love that name!) on Thursday, but am somewhat freaked about my abilities. I need to know about Handicamp, where it is, how far in, drop off capabilities. Carrying and walking are my issues. Once there and recovered I can help with that camp's needs, especially kitchen energy. I have tried for days to find info for the gimps-r-us folks. I am awaiting info, considering not coming if I don't have some help in. What to do? If you get this, know something that will help, and can get back to me I would appreciate it. Here, or email at crazycoleus@yahoo.com. Thank you in advance. Hope to see you, join you for tea, and kabbitz...Bonnie
Thank you for the update. I love you brother.
awesome im so excited!!!
Lovin that the Gathering is in PA :-). I really need to know the distance of the pack in before heading out due to a very painful disability. Can anyone help me with this information? I will need to pitch in Handicamp for the 1st time, so will need info on how to find that parking area and how far the walk is from there to main circle. Love and appreciation. Thanks, Lonnie for all the work, love and attention for the Family.
Peace <3

Glowing Star
Hi Star, am also trying to find info on Handicamp, can't carry my pack well even empty...I just joined this site today to try to find the answer, so not sure how it works. I assume info/responses will be shown to all, if not, and you get helpful knowledge, could you please share it with me. I will pass it on. Thank you, and good luck to us all!
