any advice at all about where to go?

I'm looking for a farm or commune where me and my infant son can go, where i'd bust my ass daily. can anyone point me in that direction or recommend a place? i live in south carolina right now. i got off the road and came to my hometown when i found out i was pregnant last year, now im working and saving for this next big step. It's just me and my 5 month old son. it sounds like alot to take on a single mom and a baby if youre free and want your nights of partying and all, which is totally fine. i dont party hard anymore (whoa, deja vu just now..) but i will enjoy myself a night or two a week after my son goes to sleep.  i just need to save my soul because this town is really depressing me becoming an unhappy stressed out mother and i am trying to be strong and happy for my son. we wont be attending nationals but hopefully we can get to the world gathering in canada! doesnt have to happen though. im almost 25, got a good head on my shoulders, got tons of crafts and tradeables, know how to sew and crochet, would like to get my hands in some dirt to learn, mix well with others, hmm you know-off the road and into babylon..not working well. my son is a precious sweet munchkin, growing everyday and he is at the top of the short list of what lights up my life. i can save up whatever money is needed for whatever i can contribute to and i have foodstamps. please point me in the right direction <3

I have been looking for someone to come here to S. Illinois and share a home with me . I want to bring my friend home from the nursing home. He hit a deer with his Harley. Thank you Patti for your awesome offer! I had asked around until I found the website of an EcoVillage called Earthaven  just outside of Asheville, North Carolina. It's a successful community where I am now heart set on going. Thank you for your response:)

I am on way to the Montana Rainbow Gathering after which I will be visiting family in North Dakota and Minnesota before returning home to New Mexico.  I have a friend in Nacogdoches County Texas who owns a Nature Center which will pass on to the people of the County when she passes on.  meanwhile, she needs help as she is disabled and must spend weeks at a time in VA hospitals.  there will be some animals to care for, gardening, help around the home and etc.  she will cover room and board - but know that this is very much a rainbow environment, not a middle class home.  she has a great heart, for example when the pipeline blockaders were in the county she put them ALL up at her place... she gives and gives and now is needing some family to come help her out...

 

this is NOT a romantic relationship-to-happen.  it is however a semi permanent place to live with the possibility of saving a little bit of money month after month and to learn a lot about farming and natural living.

 

I should be back home by July 23rd or so, contact Me then.
