Event Description

(A) Gathering of the Tribes - Ozarks Region
Peaceful Freedom Assembly Jul7 1st ~ 8th, 2018
This is not the Annual / National Rainbow Gathering for Peace and Healing
Free, non-commercial public event - Family friendly

... All peaceful beings are welcome to come share the gift of harmony and prayers for world peace as we celebrate interdependence day in unity without glorification of war. A circle of silent meditation will commence with the rising sun on the morning of July 4th until noon.

Location: Rippee Access (Missouri - Rippee Access / Bryant Creek)

The 2018 (A) Gathering of the Tribes (Ozarks) will be celebrated at Rippee Access State Forest in South Central Missouri along the scenic Rippee and Bryant Creeks. This location is just East of Ava Missouri and situated on the upper foot hills of the Ozarks. This area is reasonably flat with lots of sweet shade, loving meadows and has a large clear spring with easy walking access to the creeks and rivers. Site is very large and people friendly with some shallow wading pools, recreational waters, trees to play under, caves, hiking trails and lots of downed oak and hickory for camp fires. We encourage you to bring water containers & filters, tarps, cooking equipment, C.A.L.M supplies, and tools to help make this a truly wonderful experience for the family to enjoy.

Directions: N 36.869700 W -92.468406
Rippee Access is located eleven miles east of Ava Missouri off Highway 14, then 1.5 miles south on County Road 328. As always, please drive cautiously as the local deer population is successfully on the rise. Portions of the roadway in some areas have sharp curves and occasionally have steep grades. Be aware that the State of Missouri actively engages in "Safety Check Points" along most any County or State roadway. Seat belts must be worn by all passengers and proof of insurance is often required. Travel Safe and always maintain your vehicle for best performance and hassle free motoring.

Road Conditions: State highway system then turning to a wide solid base aggregate with trimmed over hangs in most places. Earthen / Chat packed road in with a concreted low water crossing and room for turn arounds. Various parking sites within easy access of main gathering points.

Environment: Conservation type area that has a main focus on conserving what blessings abound here. A truly unique location featuring many of the things that make the Ozarks great. Plenty of clean cool water and entertaining things to do in a natural way. Accessible to handi-capable folks as well as being family friendly and peaceful. The creeks are floatable and there are several hiking trails and pathways to the caves, springs, cliffs and other locales.

Sustainability:
Short term gathering of individuals and small groups with a focus to pray and celebrate in a peaceful manner, designating July 4th from dawn until noon a time of silent introspect and respectful communion. Family focused and handicapible access. Low impact, common kitchen, communal fires, eco-minded.

Please bring food to share, tools, tarps and other good things. This gathering has traditionally included a river, trail, cave and road clean-up. Your support in making this gathering the best is greatly appreciated.
