RAINBOW FAMILY GATHERINGS: Unofficial Community for Rainbow Family
Hope all my friends are well and enjoying Summer-
I'm driving to the Blue Ridge Mtns & Smoky Mountains- my favorite mountains- I like the Rockies too-
I usually end up all alone listening to the birds and being introspective- try to do some writing if I feel inspired- keep my cool- be a good safe traveler
....been vegan for 7 months now- hope to stay strong in my convictions-
I'm doing it for more than one reason; although I have noticed a healthier glow in my skin- and clearer senses- improved hearing is important to me for music- I'm 42 now- so- going Vegan will also help discourage Diabetes naturally in the body- and hopefully prevent prostrate issues- I don't like modern day medicine and pills & side effects, personally-
...so I eat a a lot of nuts- for protein- also beans & rice- and I stock up on organic Veggie soup- so there are no excuses to break my diet out of temptation- I also quit coffee for 7 months and have found that for me- personally- I don't need the caffeine at all- it throws me off balance-
I've also pretty much eliminated all sugars from my diet aside from natural fruit sugar-
I like Agave Nectar and Honey- the only problem I'm having is making organic chocolate without MIlk- I know you can use Coconut butter- but I can only find brands from the Phillipines and Sri Lanka which I believe are too close to Japan and the Fukishima meltdown- I've been holding out for Florida or California grown Coconut Butter- but cannot find them anywhere~! If anyone has any leads- let me know- I alo immensely luv mushrooms- in a responsible way- I go for the closed eye journey when everything feels right and all is well in the universe; it's like traveling to another dimension~!
I still like Yerba Mate- it has similar properties to coffee- Matteine instead of caffeine- which gives you the pick me upper without the detrimental come down- although it can still make you jittery when using the traditional Gourd and bomdilla straw- (did I spell that right?)
Yerba Mate is good for blood circulation and curbing hunger too-
No Gatherings for me this year- No festivals so far either- really sad Asheville, NC has canceled its long running (Bele Chere Festival-) they still have their Friday night drum circles though- so that's always a pleasure to attend and hopefully socialize with cool peacefull Folks- ...i still remember doing my little street performance ...ah those were the sonic days~!
I'll have my Djembe along for the journey- I wish I could see Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters- maybe I'll share a link to a great festival I watched recently- check it out~!
I may attend the 2015 Peach Festival in Scranton, PA in MId August- superb classic line-up Folks- highly recommended~!
Peace, Love, Rock & Roll~!
