I'm a HUGE believer in aromatherapy~ I'm a recovering heroin addict; I've been sober 8 years now with MMT & they're really strict about what meds you can take while on it~ understandably~ but it was a really difficult process to adjust to for me; b/c even though I quit heroin, I sort of always had that mentality of, have a symptom; take a pill, you know? I'm not against western medicine either; I just htink that people should resort to it as a last resort; when all else fails type thing. I've always gotten migraines, ever since I was a kid; and over the years they put me on a lot of different types of meds, but nothing really ever helped me much other than caffeine (ironically, a natural solution). When I started the MMT , I had a hard time keeping the methadone down, b/c the oral solution is just god awful (i can only imagine that it's akin to something like turpentine mixed with ajax lol). Someone told me to get peppermint oil~ and to this day there is NOTHING that works better to curb nausea for me than just taking a lot of deep breaths and smelling peppermint. So that kind of set the path for me to try other aromatherapies for migraines that worked well, and so on. It's such an amazing concept to me, that something you don't even ingest can work better than pills~ and I know it's a hundred times better than putting something in my body. Did you go to a traditional school to learn it, or did you just learn kind of hands on?
