RAINBOW FAMILY GATHERINGS: Unofficial Community for Rainbow Family Gatherngs
This is just me saying thiungs out loud, they are to wierd to be real, so of course they are.....
Imagine my consternation. 3 months ago I had a perfect little mancave for me and Molly my beagle and companion for ten years. 4 rooms, utilities paid, free cable and wireless internet.
$350 a month. Then she walks up and asks do you have room for me and my son. Having been homeless I explained to her how small my place was but she could have my bedroom and I would sleep on the couch. Soon after I realized she was not an honorable person and was trying to play me. Then she starts hanging out at my landlords house and i explained to her that nothing good could come from that because they were not healthy spiritually, physically or mentally. I explained I stayed away from the people upstairs because bad things would come of associating with them. two nights ago; the day I got home from Californication/Mexico, my landlord got really drunk and stupid and came to my apt at 1145 pm banging on the door demanding to talk to Carla, her name. I told him it was to late, go away we were all in bed and her son was asleep in her bed. He raved on until I warned him I was going to call the police and eventually i had to. Now I have been served with an illegal eviction notice and she tells me that he says she can stay after I get out.
I have decided not to fight because I don't want the drama and she/he have done me a great service. I leave them to their own devices.
The problem is I am tired of living alone and want to live with good kind loving people because I know that I have those things inside of me if i could be around them they would come forth from me.
They say a sucker is born every minute but i refuse to accept that i am a sucker for helping people.
God of my understanding please help me. Find me a home.

It will all fall into place for you Jackson Baggins. No one knows where the journey will take us and there are times that the path is steep. Now is one of those times. The universe is giving you an opportunity to grow in strength and spirit. It may not seem so right now but you will be closer to the balance you seek. Peace to you my friend. L

There are a lot of generic metaphors that can be tossed your way. (live & learn, what goes around comes around, etc.). I have learned over time to feel people out myself. One friend of mine is very well to do, and what he does is gives something be it a gift or money and then watches their behavior. They will usually do one of two things. A kind person will usually try to reciprocate (give back), A not so kind person will seem more needy and actually come back expecting more.
When I meet those people needing a hand what I like to do it take them for coffee someplace kind of nice. I feel them out and see if our personalities fit. Then I invite them to my place for dinner. Do they offer to pitch in with preparing the meal? Setting the table, washing the dishes? Do they bliss in the other room watching TV, on my computer, playing the kids video games? Often the offer to help out is enough to see that they are kind regardless of if you take them up on it or not.
Often we tend to use our lives and experiences as a yardstick that we measure others by. Sometimes it puts us yet again at another disadvantage. The rule of thumb should be…. Never give something that you’re not willing to part with. When you do give, give from the heart. The actual reward of being kind to another is in knowing that “You are kind”.
